For the past 30 years,
Emergency Infant Services has partnered with generous
Tulsans to "close the gap" between what children in
poverty may need and what their parents can provide
alone. We are asking you to consider closing the
gap once again but for a different reason. This
year EIS embarked on a capital campaign. We
purchased an existing facility, so time was of the
essence. We are happy to report that we are in our
new facility, and have risen over 80% of the $550,000
purchase price. Thank you to all of you whose
donations made this happen! Our primary goal was
to raise this money without eroding support for client
services, and we have been able to do just that.
It is our goal to have the building paid off by this
summer, so that we may devote our time and resources
solely to our primary mission: serving Tulsa's children.
The new facility is bright cheerful and provides the
needed space and parking to better serve our client
families. It has a safer approach for moms with
infants and toddlers in tow. The dramatic increase
in storage has allowed us to be much more efficient
stewards of our donated resources. We have
received generous large scale donations, purchased large
lots of discounted diapers and secured a very
significant discount on cribs by ordering in bulk thanks
to the enhanced storage.
We are asking you to
consider "closing the gap" with EIS once again,
this time by helping us pay the remaining $106,000
balance on the building. Every dollar makes a
difference. If you would like information on
naming a room in the new building to honor someone you
love, please call our development director, Mary Ellen
Evans Opstein. Thank you for your help, and please
come see us soon at the new facility.
